Recovery Coordinator Workload – December 6

To: All ICBC Recovery Benefit Coordinators


I received an email indicating that your work load has dramatically increased over the last few days. With respect to workload please email Colin Clark, cclark@moveuptogether.ca . He is the board member in charge of the workload committee. It is important to document how your work load has and is increasing and Colin may be able to give you some tools to assist him and you in building a work load case.

Kevin Smyth and I had a phone conversation with the employee relations manager in charge of this file and we put to him your various requests including, Recovery Coordinators becoming Customer Recovery Specialists instead of transferring to Claims Adjustors, protecting approved vacation for the group to wherever they may move, protecting current locations for any positions you apply on during this situation, and a  severance option for those wishing to move on. We also discussed other issues that we need to assess based on the current collective agreement language. We are now waiting for a response from the employer. Once we have that response, we may be able to engage in drafting some form of LOU with the employer. We will keep you informed.
