Potential janitors’ strike in Lower Mainland – Do not cross picket lines

October 30, 2020

To: MoveUP Members

Janitorial staff working at Bee-Clean Building Maintenance, represented by SEIU Local 2, have voted to go on strike and are planning to launch picket lines on the week of November 2.

They have indicated they will be picketing multiple buildings across the Lower Mainland, including potentially at the Lonsdale Quay.

While it is not anticipated that the picket lines will block any modes of public transit, including the SeaBus, we want our members to be aware of this situation. If you encounter a picket line, please make sure that you do not cross it. You can find out more about your role and responsibilities when it comes to respecting picket lines here.

If you would like to show solidarity with the janitors who are fighting for a fair contract, you can learn more at buzzonbeeclean.ca.

In solidarity,

David Black
