Notice of By-Elections – Executive Councillors #1207 and #1208
April 1, 2019
To: All MoveUP Members at BC Hydro in EC 1207/08 Area
(EC #1207 and #1208 are at-large positions representing all BC Hydro & Power Authority members at Edmonds Tower. Currently both positions are vacant.)
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running by-elections for the above councillor positions. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
Antara Deb, from out of area, has submitted a nomination form for one of the above positions. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30pm on Monday, April 15, 2019, Antara Deb will be declared the successful candidate and the remaining position will be vacant.
