Notice of By-Election – ICBC -Nominations Received – Executive Councillor #1651 to #1658 (2 vacant positions)

To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC in EC 1651 - 1658 Areas
(EC #1651 – 1658 are at-large positions representing all ICBC Members employed at ICBC Surrey Guildford Corp Centre 1st Floor, 3rd Floor, 4th Floor, 5th Floor, 6th Floor and Surrey Customer Contact Centre.) 1657 & 1658 are currently vacant.
Term Ending: April 30, 2026
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day-to-day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
Valerie Doyle and Farren Sahay have submitted nomination forms for the above positions. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday, August 18, 2023, Valerie Doyle and Farren Sahay will be declared the successful candidates.
