HOW TO VOTE
In order to vote electronically, you must have previously logged onto the MoveUP Member Portal and activated your account using your membership ID number and a personal email address.
The Member Portal is a vital hub that gives you access to all the important tools you need as a MoveUP member. It is where you can find information on your membership including active cases or grievances, update your personal information, as well as where all electronic balloting is held for elections or for ratification votes.
If you have recently changed work locations, please ensure that this information is updated on your Member Portal account right away as the ballot will include candidates for EC areas from your last known work address. This will ensure your name is on the voter’s list.
Once you log into the Member Portal you will be directed to the option to vote on screen. This is a secure and confidential webpage, and no one will be able to access it but you.
If you are already registered and know your membership ID, you can log onto the Member Portal any time after voting begins up to the deadline to vote.
If you do not know what your membership ID number is, please fill out the form at: Request my Membership Number – MoveUP
To run for an executive councillor position, be a nominator for a candidate, or to vote for a candidate, you must be a member in good standing. In general, to be in good standing means that your union dues are up to date. Most members are up to date as your union dues are paid directly by your employer, but if you have taken a recent leave of absence (e.g. maternity, parental, long-term disability, etc.) then your dues may not have been covered during the time you were away. To check if you are in good standing, log on to your Member Portal account.
