Notice of By-Election – ICBC Executive Councillor Area # 1617

To: All MoveUP members of ICBC EC Area#1617
EC Area #1617 represents ICBC members employed at Burnaby Warehouse, Metrotown DLO, Burnaby DLO and MDRT.
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the MoveUP constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are a spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
BRIAN MARTENS, out of area, has submitted a nomination for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, Brian Martens will be declared the successful candidate.
