Notice of By-Election – Executive Councillor Area # 1444

To: All MoveUP members in EC Area #1444
EC Area # 1444 represents members employed at BC Ferry & Marine Workers Union, CUPE BC, CUPE (Locals 23, 374, 379, 389, 454, 561, 718, 728, 873, 900, 1004, 2011, 3338, 3500 & 3523, 3742, 4879), and Teamsters (Locals 31, 155, 213 & 213 Member Benefit Plan).
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the MoveUP constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are a spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
DAWN LENTSCH has submitted a nomination for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018, Dawn Lentsch will be declared the successful candidate.
