Notice of By-Election – Capilano University -Nomination Received – Executive Councillor # 1449 to # 1452 (1 Position Available)

To: All MoveUP members at Capilano University - EC Areas # 1449 to # 1452
(EC # # 1449 to # 1452 are at-large positions representing all Members employed at Capilano University. EC #1452 is currently available)
Term Ending: April 30, 2026
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor positions. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day-to-day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
Chris Shier has submitted a nomination form for one of the above positions. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday, September 22, 2023, Chris Shier will be declared a successful candidate.
