Notice of By-Election – BC Hydro -Nomination Received – Executive Councillor #1205 to #1209 (2 vacant positions)

To: All MoveUP Members at BC Hydro in EC 1205 to 1209 Areas
(EC #1205 to 1209 are at-large positions representing all Members employed at BC Hydro at Dunsmuir 1st Floor to 17th Floor and ESC Leave Admin. Members employed at Accenture at Dunsmuir 11th Floor. 1208 & 1209 are currently vacant.)
Term Ending: April 30, 2026
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor positions. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day-to-day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
Tom David has submitted a nomination form for one of the above positions. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday, August 18, 2023, Tom David will be declared a successful candidate.
