NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Area #1608

To: All MoveUP Members in EC #1601-1611 Area at Home and Work - Please Post
EC Area #1601-1611 are at-large positions representing members employed at ICBC at Head Office locations (221 West Esplanade, 132 West Esplanade, 151 West Esplanade and 171 West Esplanade. Five of the positions are filled).
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
ANGELA BROWN (out of area) has submitted a nomination form for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017, Angela Brown will be declared the successful candidate.
