Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council endorses Naomi Bailey for Nanaimo-Ladysmith School Board Trustee

The Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council has endorsed Naomi Bailey for trustee in the upcoming Nanaimo-Ladysmith school trustee by-election (SD68).

Naomi has over 20 years in the K-12 system as an academic advisor, teacher, counsellor and administration with SD68. She has also been a school administration with Stz’uminus First Nation and is presently the acting manager of Indigenous protocol at Vancouver Island University.

Naomi, who is a member of the Mid-Island Metis Association, intends to advocate for more hours for education assistants, as well as for more child and youth care workers in the district.

The by-election takes place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with special voting opportunities available throughout the week from January 10 to 14.
