MoveUP Notice of (3) By-Elections for Executive Councillors – Areas #1601 – 1611

To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC in EC Areas #1601-1611 at Home and Work
Members of EC areas #1601-1611 are employed at ICBC – Head Office Locations (221 West Esplanade, 132 West Esplanade, 151 West Esplanade and 171 West Esplanade).
There are 11 positions at large. Areas # 1601-1608 are currently filled therefore there are three (3) vacancies – areas #1609; 1610; 1611.
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running three (3) by-elections for the above councillor positions. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
Deadline for nominations to be received at the union office is Monday, January 22, 2018.
