Convention
MoveUP – 2024 Convention Call
To: All MoveUP members
The 2024 MoveUP convention will be taking place from Thursday, September 12 to Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency – Vancouver, with caucus meetings taking place on Wednesday, September 11. Convention is the supreme governing body of your union and provides delegates to Convention an opportunity to elect your vice-presidents.
The theme for this year’s convention is “Building Our Future Together.” You can find out more by visiting our Convention 2024 webpage at MoveUPTogether.ca/convention2024.
Packages will be sent to the job stewards and executive councillors in your area and will include detailed information, and the delegate entitlement for your executive council area. The delegate entitlement sheet indicates how many members from your executive council area can attend, as well as a list of who all the job stewards and executive councillors are for that area. Due to the nature of these lists, that information is only being emailed to your executive councillor and job stewards in your area.
All executive councillors are automatic primary delegates to convention but still must register by completing the expression of interest form online indicating whether you are able to attend.
Job stewards are not automatic delegates and will be selected based on priority order. If there are additional delegate spots available after executive councillors and job stewards have had their opportunity to express their interest, then those from our general membership may be considered.
If you are interested in attending convention, you must fill out the online Expression of Interest Form by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Rules governing eligibility and the number of delegates for convention can be found in the MoveUP Constitution. For the Expression of Interest Form, click here.
