May 12 is Moose Hide Campaign Day

May 12, 2022

To: All MoveUP Members

May 12 marks the annual Moose Hide Campaign Day, a day of ceremony where all Canadians are called to join together to take a stand against violence towards women and children and to take practical steps for our collective journey of reconciliation.

This campaign first started 11 years ago with a small gathering and has now become a national ceremony inviting all Canadians to join.

As part of our union’s support of Moose Hide Campaign Day, we have ordered 500 pins to distribute to our members – 250 real hide pins, and 250 synthetic pins for our non-animal wearing members.

We will be distributing these pins to our executive councillors at our meeting scheduled on May 16. If you are interested in receiving a pin, please contact the executive councillor for your area. You can find who your executive councillor is by logging in to your Member Portal profile.

If your area does not currently have an executive councillor, you can email MoveUP Vice-President Christy Slusarenko at cslusarenko@moveuptogether.ca.

Please be aware we may not be able to fulfill all pin requests.
