Lu’Ma Native Housing Society – Variance Notice

February 22, 2019

To: All MoveUp Members at Lu'Ma Native Housing Society

MoveUP submitted an application on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 to the BC Labour Relations Board to include workers at the new Heatherlands Project into our current certification.

Within the next 10 days, all non-management employees at the Heatherlands Project will have a chance to vote to join MoveUP in a secret ballot style vote at their work site. The vote will be conducted by a neutral party of the BC Labour Relations Board and will be attended by both union and employer designated representatives to observe the process.

If the results of the vote are successful, the members will officially join MoveUP and will be included in our certification with the employer. We will then begin the process of negotiating their terms and conditions.

I will keep you informed once we have the results of the vote. Please contact me if you have any questions.

In Solidarity,

Nathan Beausoleil, Union Representative
Caitlin Gilroy, Organizer
