LDCU – Policy Grievance – National Day of Mourning

We write to inform you that a policy grievance has been filed against your employer for their failure to recognize the National Day of Mourning on September 19, 2022 as a holiday. Your collective agreement states under Article 7.01 “and any other day that may be stated a legal holiday by the Provincial, Civic and/or Federal Government.” Our interpretation is that September 19^th should have been recognized, and thus a policy grievance was filed.
