Kelowna Cabs – Tentative Agreement Reached and Ratification Vote July 29

To: All MoveUP members at Kelowna Cabs
Your bargaining committee is pleased to advise that we have reached a tentative agreement with your Employer, subject to membership ratification. Your bargaining committee recommends ratification of this agreement.
Highlights of the deal include, but are not limited to:
- 2-year term from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2028
- Retroactive wage increase of 5% to June 1, 2026, and then 4% effective June 1, 2027
- Shift premium and Working Alone premium increases from $0.50 to $0.75 per hour
- Training premium of $0.75 per hour
- Severance pay improvement
- Addition of 6 weeks’ vacation at 16 years of service
- Addition of paid Domestic and Sexual Violence Leave
- Establishment of a Joint Labour-Management committee made up of representatives from both Employer and Union with meetings to be held quarterly
- Improved language establishing safety meetings to be held in coordination with the Joint Labour-Management committee meetings
A ratification meeting will be held at Kelowna Cabs on Wednesday, July 29, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am where the details of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will be shared. You may also view the MOA in advance of the meeting here. An in-person ballot vote will be held following the meeting between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm.
