Bargaining
Kelowna Cabs – Bargaining Update #3
October 6, 2020
To: All MoveUP Members at Kelowna Cabs
The Employer and your Union met again on August 25 and 26, 2020 to resume bargaining. We went through the bargaining protocol and made sure that the Employer understands its obligations under the BC Labour Relations Code. To the surprise of the Bargaining Committee, the Employer informed us that they were not interested in bargaining. The Bargaining Committee is extremely disappointed in the Employer walking away from the table and not making a reasonable effort to conclude the collective agreement. Your Union has filed a bad faith bargaining complaint with the B.C. Labour Relations Board to force the Employer back to the table.
Your Union’s primary objective is to protect your rights set out in the collective agreement. We have also filed grievances to address numerous workplace issues. All matters have been referred to arbitration as the Employer continues its current demeanor. Should you have any question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at achen@moveuptogether.ca.
In Solidarity,
Anny Chen, Union Representative
