Kekinow Bargaining – Update #2

To: All MoveUP Members at Kekinow Native Housing Society
Your union commenced bargaining with your employer on January 30, 2023. In the first meeting, the parties tabled various proposals which generated productive discussions on non-monetary items. We ended the meeting with some understanding of what each of the parties wanted in the agreement and what we would not accept. The parties agreed to reconvene on February 3, 2023.
On February 3, 2023 we met with the employer and continued our negotiations. The employer provided responses to our non-monetary proposals. Your union reviewed the responses and drafted counter proposals. We are hopeful that we can conclude the non-monetary items by our next meeting so that we can commence discussions for monetary items.
We thank our members for providing their feedback. The union feels we have clear direction from the membership and what is important to them. We look forward to providing new updates in the weeks to come.
