Invitation to Participate in the Creation of a Museum/Centre for Canadians of South Asian Heritage

Dear MoveUP Members,
The BC Federation of Labour (BCFED) has received provincial funding to engage union members who self-identify as South Asian in shaping the creation of a museum or centre dedicated to Canadians of South Asian Heritage. MoveUP encourages all eligible members to participate in this important initiative.
Engagement Sessions:
- February 25, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Online via Zoom – Province-wide)
- March 1, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (In-person – Surrey, BC)
- March 5, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (In-person – Vancouver, BC)
- March 11, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (In-person – Burnaby, BC)
- March 12, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Online via Zoom – Province-wide)
These engagement sessions will be led by Hermender Singh Kailley, the first leader of South Asian Heritage at the BC Federation of Labour, who has been appointed to the project’s advisory committee.
Who Can Participate?
BCFED-affiliated union members who self-identify as South Asian or as of South Asian descent are invited to attend and contribute their perspectives.
How to Register
Registration details will be shared soon. We encourage members to mark their calendars and participate in a session that best suits their availability.
