Bargaining

CORRECTION ***IMPORTANT*** Voting Information -Bargaining Update #12- March 4, 2020

March 5, 2020

To: All Members at Coast Mountain Bus Company

***Meeting room change below in red***

The Bargaining Committee would like to thank all the members who came to vote at the Burnaby Transit Centre and Vancouver Transit Centre on Tuesday March 3, 2020. We were extremely pleased with the huge turnout.

The Bargaining Committee later in the afternoon realized that errors unfortunately had been made in how ballots were administered. We recognized that MoveUP’s Returning Officer (individual who counts the votes) very likely would consider a significant portion of ballots cast to be spoiled. Spoiled ballots are not counted for or against the settlement.

In consultation with MoveUP President David Black, the Union decided to restart the balloting process using a mail-in ballot. All ballots cast on March 3, 2020, will be destroyed by the Returning Officer. All CMBC members who cast votes on March 3 will need to re-vote in the mail-in ballot.

MoveUP is sending a mail-in ballot to all CMBC Bargaining Unit Members. Please fill out the ballot as soon as you receive it, follow the instructions provided, and return it (postage paid)  to the MoveUP office no later than Friday, March 20 at 4:30pm.

The bargaining committee will still hold meetings for CMBC members on Friday to discuss and answer questions about the new collective agreement. No voting will occur at these meetings.
