ICBC – Update on Retroactive Pay and Wage Increases

October 5, 2026

To: All MoveUP members at ICBC

On Friday, we met with Employer Relations to express our frustration over this delayed wage increase which squarely falls in their hands.

They tried to claim it was never their intention to split the retroactive payments into two. We have documented proof they told us something different, which was the information we passed on to you.

We’re not backing down on this issue because you deserve better. Even if it was a miscommunication or an issue they did not discover until later, not informing us is not acceptable. It’s downright disrespectful. You deserve better than that, and they owe you an apology.

With that said, please know that your retroactive pay and wage increases are coming to you.

ICBC told us they will have this situation fixed by the October 30 payroll and you will receive your retroactive pay, and wage increases at this time.

We don’t buy their excuse that it’s impossible to apply the new pay scale separately from processing the retroactive pay. We’re going to push this as much as possible for a better solution, and to continue to reinforce the fact they owe you an apology.

In the meantime, please know your retroactive pay and wage increases are coming to you.

In solidarity,

Sara Colliss, Union Representative
Brian Martens, Interim Vice-President, ICBC Bargaining Unit
Trevor Hansen, Senior Union Representative
