Bulletin
Hastings – Scheduling & Shift Bid Lines
June 3, 2019
To: All MoveUP members at Hastings Entertainment
Your Employer has recently introduced changes to the scheduling of your shifts. Many members have contacted the Union and expressed their concerns over the new process, regarding their current shift schedules.
Unfortunately, had the Employer consulted with the Union prior to these changes, we could have discussed ways to reduce the impact to our members.
Your Employer has been introducing new shift bid lines in some areas in order to help cover the necessary shifts. Primarily the shortages they face are on Thursdays to Sundays.
Your Employer has also created shifts in other departments as new employees are hired. They have advised us of the following process should you have a concern or conflict with your shift(s):
- If a single day does not work on your bid line, as per past practice see if there is someone else in your department who might be willing to change shifts with you and submit the appropriate forms to your scheduling manager for approval.
- If you are unable to change your shift, set up a meeting with your scheduling manager and shop steward to discuss other possibilities.
- If you are unable to resolve with your shift manager, request a further meeting to include HR.
A list of current job stewards are as follows:
Charles Balint
Emily Reilly
Greg Goulding
Keith Parkinson
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your job steward or the Union office.
In solidarity,
April Young, Union Representative
