Hastings Entertainment Inc.- Bargaining Update #20 – Hastings proposes signing bonus to settle dispute.

Last week the employer provided the union with a financial offer for consideration. The offer was a tiered signing bonus based on hours worked. Your bargaining committee and the union evaluated the offer and have informed the employer that we decline the offer. The offer was way too low and it was clear to the committee and the union that it would not be ratified but instead would be an insult to the membership. As the offer was so minimal the union’s bargaining committee will not be submitting a counter proposal.
Your bargaining committee is willing to consider a fair and reasonable offer of settlement and encourages the employer to get serous and treat our members fairly. The bargaining committee and the union have planned upcoming meetings and will continue to work to get members a better offer.
