FortisBC Re-integration Plan

June 24, 2021

To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC

We wanted to write to let you know that your union and the company had a discussion on Monday, June 21, 2022, regarding the company’s decision to bring members back into work on September 7, 2021.

The company has informed your union that they are wanting to align the re-integration of employees with the BC Re-Start plan, which would have employees returning to work on September 7, 2021.

No real details have been given to the union, other than it is currently a work in progress, and that there will be a variety of meetings amongst managers, and then there is likely going to be meetings with members, to provide them with the notification that September 7, 2021, is the day that employees will be expected to return to work.

We understand from a lot of members that working from home is preferred rather than returning to one’s designated headquarters, however, it is ultimately the company that owns the decision to whether or not they wish to have members continue to work from home.

The union has signaled to the company that we are open for discussions on telework agreements, and when they are prepared to discuss, we will be happy to meet.  The current telework agreements are in place until September 4, 2021.

We will keep you apprised when information is provided to the union and any potential agreements are reached.

In solidarity,

Cindy A. Lee
Union Representative
