FortisBC-CSC – Vacation Scheduling Discussions
May 17, 2019
To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC-CSC
We write to let you know that we continue to discuss the difference of opinion between the Parties regarding the vacation entitlements for part-time employees who are going into their 8th year with the Company and their entitlement to four (4) weeks vacation (20 days).
As much as we appreciate the Company’s position, we offer that through the various rounds of bargaining, the language in the applicable Article(s) have changed which has brought us to the position that the Part-timers are entitled to receive their weeks of entitlement as seen in the current Article 14.03.
During our last round of bargaining, the Union tabled a proposal that was accepted by the Company, that made the amendment to the entitlement to weeks for Part-time Regular employees.
We have been contacted by the Company and are waiting for their meeting invite to discuss the next step.
If you are a part-time employee, and you believe that your seniority provides for you to be entitled to the four (4) weeks of vacation, please contact your job steward in your work location so we are in a position of keeping track.
In Solidarity,
Cindy A. Lee
Union Representative
