David Suzuki Foundation – Learn, Grow and Lead by Becoming a Job Steward at MoveUP

To: All MoveUP members at the David Suzuki Foundation
Your union, along with the COPE Ontario and Quebec representatives, have been working tirelessly to negotiate for the terminated employees for the past few weeks. We empathize with the mental strain this has caused you as you learn more changes from your senior management team and navigate some uncertainty in our economic landscapes. We now need to turn our attention to the preparation of your first collective agreement.
Our job stewards occupy the most valuable roles in our union. Stewards provide workplace leadership and information, insight and understanding to the staff and elected representatives at the MoveUP office. They offer support and guidance to their co-workers, keep little problems from becoming big ones, and help make the workplace function smoothly. Becoming a job steward is a rewarding experience. It’s an opportunity to help and support your colleagues, while learning valuable skills.
