Bargaining

CUPE BC and Locals-Bargaining – Proposed Contract Extension

January 10, 2017

To: All MoveUP Members at CUPE BC and Locals

During the bargaining on your current agreement, which concluded in October 2015, the parties had agreed to review the benefits package with Pacific Blue Cross (PBC). The goal was to see where we might improve and standardize the benefits and where there may be some savings as the Employer has committed to add the improvements that you had sought during negotiations.

The parties have met with PBC and the review is currently ongoing. Your collective agreement has now expired.  We have been asked if the bargaining unit would consider extending the current agreement for one year, to December 31, 2017, with a wage increase of one and three quarters (1.75%) percent, effective January 1, 2017.

Please advise by return email if you are interested in an extension of the agreement.  If a majority of the employees covered by the agreement are in favour, we will obtain a signed memorandum from the Employer for you to vote on.

If you have any questions please contact Barry Hodson via email at bhodson@moveuptogether.ca or call 604-473-3861, at your convenience.

In solidarity,

Barry Hodson
Union Representative
