Cost of Living Allowance – Wage Increase

To: All MoveUP members at Seaspan ULC


Further to our last round of bargaining for the current collective agreement, MoveUP negotiated a wage increase for 2024 which included a “me too” clause. What this means is that if the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 400 or the Canadian Merchant Service Guild received a wage increase greater than the base increase amount negotiated by MoveUP, inclusive of a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) increase, all MoveUP members would be entitled to that increase as well.

Your union negotiated a base wage increase of 2.0% for 2024, however the Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, released on October 15, 2024, indicates that Vancouver’s increase was 2.8%.

We have received confirmation from your employer that there will be a retroactive wage adjustment for the 0.8% wage increase from March 1, 2024 to November 15, 2024 paid to all members on the November 15 payroll.
