Bulletin

Clarification on vacation bidding for Customer Recovery Specialists

September 15, 2020

To: All MoveUP members at ICBC Customer Recovery Specialists

The bulletin that we sent on August 18 unfortunately included an error. It indicated that Customer Recovery Specialists would be covered by the direct call system for the 2021 vacation bid. That was not correct, and I am very sorry for the confusion.

Customer Recovery Specialists will do an electronic vacation bid, similar to many other groups of workers. You will bid as one group, regardless of your headquarters, and that bidding will be done in order of seniority.

This will also apply to anyone that is in an acting assignment as a Customer Recovery Specialist. Anyone in an acting assignment can choose which vacation schedule they want to bid on, for each round. For instance, if a Claims Adjuster is in an acting assignment as a CRS which goes until July 1, 2021, they can choose to bid on the CRS vacation schedule from January 1 to July 1, 2021. Or they can choose to bid on the CA vacation schedule from July 2 to December 31, 2021.

For reference click here to see the electronic bid process as referenced in the recent LOU -Vacation Scheduling for Certain Positions.

Please note as well, that workers in acting assignments cannot bid on both schedules at one time. They must choose which ‘calendar’ they are bidding on for each round. For instance, they can choose the CSA calendar for round 1, the CA calendar for round 2, the CA calendar for round 3 and the CSA calendar for round 4.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact a job steward in your area or email me directly at atoth@moveuptogether.ca

In solidarity,
Annette Toth,Vice-President
