Canadian Northern Shield – Remote Work

March 18, 2022

To: All MoveUP Members at Canadian Northern Shield

On March 15, we met with representatives of CNS to discuss the continuance of remote work and initiatives for a return to the office.

The Employer has informed us that they intend on implementing a hybrid model similar to their Intact model, where remote work and office work will be balanced based on operational requirements and what works for an individual. There will be no minimum days in office, however you may be required to go in on days for team meetings, performance discussions, events, and as required by your manager.

The Employer has informed us that they intend to have the hybrid model communicated and implemented by May 2, 2022. You will be able to go into the office if you so choose prior to May 2. However, doing so will be optional at this time.

We have confirmed that the Employer will ensure that a COVID safety plan will be available to anyone going into the office prior to April 8, and a communicable disease prevention plan will be implemented after April 8, as per current WorkSafeBC regulations and public health orders.

In Solidarity,

Connie Saville, Job Steward
Tania Busch, Job Steward
Nathan Beausoleil, Union Representative
