Bargaining

BCH & Powertech – Bargaining Update # 7

January 9, 2023

To: All MoveUP members at BCH & Powertech

Your MoveUP Bargaining Committee is scheduled to resume bargaining with BC Hydro on January 11th, through to February 3rd.   There are a few non-monetary matters that need to be resolved before we can begin talking about monetary.  We are seeking improvements for wages, overtime, per diems, living out allowance, benefits & paramedical, time off with pay, MOU 85, MOU 15 and the list goes on.

Prior to the Christmas break your committee reviewed the employer’s proposals in detail and recognized some challenges which has slowed down bargaining.  Please note that your Bargaining Committee will not accept concessions (the action of conceding or giving up an entitlement under your collective agreement).

We remain committed to addressing the concerns of the membership and we will continue to fight hard for an enhanced collective agreement.

In solidarity,

Your bargaining committee:

Mike Novak, Union Representative
Javed Saheb, Union Representative
Rysa Kronebusch, Vice-President – Utilities
Anderson Charles, Bargaining Committee Member
Calvin Jonas, Bargaining Committee Member
Shelly Johnston, Bargaining Committee Member
Kelly Cammack, Bargaining Committee Member
Rhys Coulter, Bargaining Committee Member
