BCH – MOU #15 Positions to be Posted

To all MoveUP Members at BC Hydro
On March 10, 2020, MoveUP settled a number of grievances related to construction and field work employees working under MOU #15. One of the terms of settlement was that BC Hydro would create and post ten (10) Full-Time Regular positions under MOU #15, consisting of six (6) Construction Officers and four (4) Occupational Health and Safety Specialists.
Due to the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic, posting of these positions was delayed. We have now confirmed with BC Hydro that these positions will be posted by August 4, 2020.
The positions will be awarded to those employees in a temporary MOU #15 position for more than six (6) years who can perform the work of the respective positions. If positions remain unfilled, they will be awarded to those employees in a temporary MOU #15 position for more than three (3) years who can perform the work. Third priority will be given to those employees in a temporary MOU #15 position for less than three (3) years who can perform the work.
The positions will be posted without reference to location, and will be located in the location at which the successful applicant is currently based. The full scope of the collective agreement will apply to these positions, with the exception that in the event of a displacement, incumbents may not bump other employees other than those covered by MOU #15.
If any of the positions become vacant over the course of the current collective agreement, they must be reposted and filled by BC Hydro.
