BCGEU – Final Offer Rejected

November 3, 2021

To: All MoveUP members at BCGEU

The Labour Relations Board conducted the vote count on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Your bargaining committee is pleased to report there were 123 votes in favour of rejecting the final offer and 5 votes were in favour of accepting the final offer. These results show the final offer has been overwhelmingly rejected by the membership by 96.1%.

This result, coupled with the 95% strike vote result we recently received should send the clearest of messages to your employer that it needs to re-evaluate the position it has taken on the proposals that matter to you and negotiate a fair renewed collective agreement.

Your bargaining committee and job action committee have been meeting to prepare for the next steps and planned job action. We will be communicating the details of these plans to you, your employer, and the Labour Relations Board in the coming days.

We thank you for continuing to support your bargaining committee with strong mandates. As always, if you have questions or concerns, please contact your bargaining committee at bcgeubargaining@moveuptogather.ca

In solidarity,
