BCGEU – Bargaining Update # 3
October 6, 2021
To: All MoveUP members at BCGEU
Your bargaining committee met with your employer and the mediator appointed by the Labour Relations Board on October 5 to continue negotiations. The parties were able to sign off on several outstanding proposals that were less contentious in nature. However, the parties remain far apart on the proposals that matter to you most:
- Wages
- The ability to work from home
- Parity in your health and welfare benefits
We concluded the day by strongly urging your employer’s bargaining committee to return to our next scheduled mediation date on October 14 with meaningful responses on each of these proposals. If they did not, that further mediation would be unproductive, and job action could occur.
