BCAA SL – Bargaining update #4

To: All MoveUP members at BCAA SL
Your bargaining committee met with BCAA on November 4 to open conversations on some of the non-monetary proposals on the table, as well as renew some of the letters of understanding in your collective agreement. Some of the topics discussed included staffing, scheduling, training, and the notification of system upgrades. Conversations on these topics are in the preliminary stages and will remain ongoing.
Conversations regarding monetary proposals, or proposals that have costs associated with them, including benefits and other entitlements, have not been discussed and will not be discussed until further discussion regarding the non-monetary proposals has occurred. Negotiations will reconvene on December 1 and 14, and we will update you following those dates.
Further, we welcome Elena Novozhilova, from the Coquitlam service location, who has been appointed onto your bargaining committee to replace Robyn Sabiston. Robyn will be retiring as of November 29. We thank Robyn for all her time and dedication in her union work and activism as a job steward.
