BC Transit Bargaining Update #3

December 2, 2022

To: All MoveUP members at BC Transit

Your bargaining committee met with the employer from Tuesday November 29th to Thursday December 1st to continue the process of renewing the collective bargaining agreement.

The parties continued to address items that are considered non-monetary. The process gets more difficult as it moves forward as remaining items require more explanation and advocacy.

Both parties have been working hard toward reaching the stated goal of a recommended settlement.

If you have any questions about the process or anything else, please feel free to contact a member of your bargaining committee.

The parties will be meeting again starting on January 17th.  We currently have six dates set and will schedule further dates as required.

Thanks again for all the support that you have given to your bargaining committee.  The committee would particularly like to thank the members for the feedback that has been received during bargaining.  It is very common for a bargaining committee to continually be gathering information throughout the bargaining process and the details that have been provided have been very helpful to us as we work through bargaining.  We remain committed to bringing back the best possible agreement.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee:

Tiffany Rivers, Job Steward
Kayla de Puit, Job Steward
Glen Redden, Executive Councillor
Sal Ruffolo, Executive Councillor
Shawn Lakusta, Union Representative
