BC Civil Liberties Association – Bargaining Update # 1

To: All MoveUP Members at BC Civil Liberties Association
Your bargaining committee was scheduled to meet with the employer on October 23 and 24, 2023. We met with the employer on Monday, October 23 and the parties discussed and agreed on the bargaining protocols as the first step of collective bargaining.
The union then provided the employer with all of our proposals and a discussion took place to provide some clarity. At that point, the employer suggested that we cancel our meeting for October 24 to allow them time to review amongst themselves. The parties discussed availability for next dates and we are now scheduled to return to the bargaining table for five days in December.
We appreciate your patience and we will continue to provide you with further updates as bargaining progresses.
