Apply to join us on Indigenous Lobby Day in Ottawa from October 1-4

To: MoveUP Councillors and Job Stewards
Our union is proud to be participating in the upcoming Indigenous Lobby Day on October 3, 2023 in Ottawa and we are seeking 1-2 self-identified Indigenous, Métis, or Inuit job steward or executive councillor that are interested in joining our delegation.
You must be available to travel to Ottawa on October 1, attend a training session on October 2, participate in the Lobby Day on October 3, and return on October 4. If selected we will coordinate your book off as necessary and your travel and expenses will be reimbursed as per MoveUP’s policies.
The topics that will be covered are safe drinking water, establishing a national red dress alert system, and funding for searches for the missing remains of all children who died at residential schools.
If you are interested in being part of our delegation, please email Michelle at mmihaichuk@moveuptogether.ca and include a brief note about why you would like to take part in this opportunity. Please email no later than Friday, September 8. By expressing your interest in taking part, you are self-identifying as either Indigenous, Métis, or Inuit and confirming that you are available between October 1 to 4.
