AMS – Transition Agreement Reached

June 30, 2026

To: All MoveUP Members at AMS

Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that the Union and the Employer have reached an agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding covering the Variance of the Food & Beverage workers at AMS.

This Transition Agreement will serve to bridge various issues between the Parties prior to the beginning of Collective Bargaining in 2027.

Some highlights in the Transition Agreement include:

  • Wage Grid Placement – Effective June 1st, Most members will be receiving between 4%-15% increases with some eligible for backpay to December 2025. The global average increase for the entire component is 6%.
  • New rules on scheduling – Changes will be made to current practices to ensure that scheduling is done in a timely and consistent manner, with shifts being distributed as fairly as possible.
  • Recall protections for seasonal (student) employees – Seasonal workers will be recalled for work before any new hires are made, ensuring job security.
  • Tip Distribution Committee – A standing committee will be formed in each gratuity-generating work area to ensure a fair distribution of tips. Talk to your Job Steward if you are interested in participating in the committees!

You can read the full document here.

Your Union will be holding an online general meeting on Monday, July 6th at 6:00pm to review the Transition Agreement with the membership and to discuss its implementation. If you plan on attending, Please RSVP here.

In solidarity,
