Hello again Alma Mater Society members!
As mentioned in our previous email, with our collective bargaining beginning in early 2027, and the Food & Beverage Component’s memorandum of understanding (MOU), there has never been a better time to get involved in your Union! The MOU not only creates more equity and solidarity within our membership, but also establishes a clear path for more gains in the future, and creates new ways for you to get engaged! To celebrate the MOU, we are excited to host a barbecue for you on Friday, August 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
Taking place on the plaza outside Blue Chip, we’ll be serving beef and vegetarian burgers, chips, drinks, and corn on the cob.

Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: UBC Campus, Plaza outside Blue Chip
Please join us on your lunch break to enjoy some great food and talk to the stewards and members working alongside you. You will also have the opportunity to speak with MoveUP President Annette Toth, Vice President Brian Martens, and your Union Representative Kai Sharpe!
If you plan to swing by, please complete this RSVP form by end of day Tuesday, August 25, so we can ensure we have enough food for everyone.
