ABSBC – Repatriation – Update on delayed April 30, 2017 election of option by BC Hydro

May 15, 2017

To all MoveUP members at Accenture:

This is a follow up to our May 3, 2017 bulletin regarding notice from BC Hydro that they are unable to meet the April 30, 2017 deadline to advise which option they will be offering Accenture employees under the repatriation Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

The Union followed the dispute resolution in the MOA and held an arbitration with arbitrator Ken Saunders on May 12, 2017.  Mr. Saunders rendered a decision on May 12, 2017 finding that the Employer breached the MOA.  Mr. Saunders made this declaration on the condition that the Employer meets its commitment to the revised deadline of June 30, 2017 (Award attached).  Mr. Saunders retains jurisdiction to resolve any issue concerning the interpretation, application, implementation or alleged violation of this Award.

If you have any questions or concerns you can contact the Union at repatriation@moveuptogether.ca.

In solidarity,

Brad Bastien, Senior Union Representative
Barbara Junker, Union Representative
Cheryl Popeniuk, Union Representative
Gwenne Farrell, Vice President – Utilities
