BCAA – Strength in numbers – Tell your friends

September 17, 2026

To: All BCAA members

It’s no secret we are making very strong progress towards bringing in all BCAA service locations into our union.

Why do we know this? Because if we weren’t, your employer wouldn’t have put out their post yesterday morning warning you all about the dangers of the union.

They are right. We are dangerous. For them.

More People. More Power.

With the addition of the Courtenay Service Location, we now represent 9 service locations plus the Road Assist Contact Centre and Administration.

The more service locations that join our union, the greater our bargaining strength is.

Your employer is right about another thing. We can’t guarantee better wages or better benefits, but YOU can. When you come together and take a stand, you empower us to go to the bargaining table on your behalf, and you give us that force and strength we need to get you the deal that you deserve.

The more of us there are, the more leverage we have, which means the greater our ability to make gains for you.

That’s why we’re making this big push, and that’s why we need your help too.

Shhh…union secrets only

Work time is work time. We get that. You should probably wait until your break time to share your thoughts on your kid’s recital, your upcoming vacation plans, or the state of the Vancouver Canucks too.

But when you find that time to talk to your friends and colleagues about how we can collectively make our union stronger, make sure to keep us in the loop.

If you, your coworker, or someone you know from a non-unionized location is looking for more information, feel free to reach out to Ronnie any time at rho@moveuptogether.ca.

Finally…a message to your employer

We, too, are focused on professional, respectful and good-faith bargaining.

And thank you for making all your service locations aware that MoveUP will be ready to welcome them, and that we will take their collective strength to the bargaining table to make sure everybody who works at BCAA is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness at work.

Solidarity, forever!

Ronnie Ho, Union Representative
Christy Slusarenko, Vice-President, Combined Units
