FortisBC-CSC – New Pilot Program – Working from Alternate Headquarters for Personal Reasons (WAHPR)

To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC-CSC
I write to inform you that the union and the company have signed a letter of understanding initiating a new pilot program that will allow MoveUP members in FortisBC Customer Service Centres to request to work temporarily from other company headquarters for personal reasons, effective immediately.
For example, if a member in Trail or Prince George plans to travel to Vancouver for several days to visit family, see a concert, etc., they may request to work some of those days from the call centre in Burnaby to reduce the number of vacation days or unpaid days off they need to use for the trip.
This mutually beneficial arrangement will allow our members options to use their booked time off more efficiently while providing more availability to the company while they are traveling.
Participation in the program will be subject to eligibility requirements and conditions. Please CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING.
As this is a pilot project, it will only be in place until the current collective agreement expires on March 31, 2027. Until then, the parties will try out the program, gather feedback, and identify potential issues and improvements. If it functions well, we may discuss renewing it in bargaining.
