Municipal elections are taking place next month on October 17, 2026, and the stakes couldn’t be higher for our cities.

MoveUP is proudly supporting a campaign called Vote For Here, which is fighting to elect leaders across Metro Vancouver who will make our cities work for us, not just the wealthy few. It is being spearheaded by the Vancouver & District Labour Council and New Westminster & District Labour Council.

Our city councils can make housing more affordable, create good jobs, make it easier and cheaper to commute to work, and make sure our parks, libraries, pools and community centres are well maintained. Our local school boards can make sure our public schools are places where our kids can thrive. We just need to make sure leaders who share our values are elected!

Soon you may get emails and texts from the Vote For Here campaign, and phone calls from fellow union members making sure you have everything you need to vote on October 17. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Municipal elections often come down to a handful of votes. If enough of us vote for pro-worker candidates, we can make the difference.

In solidarity,

Annette Toth & Rysa Kronebusch
Co-chairs, Political Action Committee
