Indigenous Post-Secondary Application Support Program

MoveUP has created a one-time $10,000 program, from the Indigenous Peoples Fund, to help support our self-identifying Indigenous members and their immediate family offset the cost of applying to public post-secondary education.

The program will provide up to $300 per MoveUP member to reimburse the cost of application fees for themselves or their immediate family towards a Canadian public post-secondary institution or public trades training program.

If applying to an institution outside of BC, or you are unsure whether your selected school/program is eligible, please contact sectres@moveuptogether.ca to confirm eligibility.

To track the success and impact of the program, MoveUP may follow up with you at a later time to discuss the outcomes of the funding for the candidate(s).

This program will remain open until the funds have been exhausted. Once the funds have been exhausted, the program may close pending further support.

The program is open on a first come, first served basis.

Reimbursements will be dependent on the remaining available funds. MoveUP will inform you within 10 business days whether your reimbursement has been approved as well as the total amount.

Eligible applications are those for intake in the Winter 2027 semester and beyond.

    Conditions:

    • The MoveUP member and their immediate family (if applicable) must self-identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis)
    • Immediate family is defined as, and limited to: spouse, children (including step-children and/or adopted children), and siblings (including step-sibling or adopted sibling)
    • The maximum total amount eligible for reimbursement per member is $300. For example, if a member, their spouse, and their 2 children (4 people total) each decided to apply for a public post-secondary institution and the combined amount of all application totaled $400, only a maximum of $300 will be reimbursed
    • In order to be eligible, the member must submit their paid receipt from their application clearly indicating the name of the public post-secondary institution and/or trade school
    • A member may choose to submit as many receipts as they wish for themselves and/or their immediate family members, but only a maximum of $300 will be reimbursed
    • The reimbursement will be made ONLY to the MoveUP member, even if the provided funds are used to support another immediate family member’s application
