BCGEU – Bargaining Update #3 – July update and new dates in the Fall

To: All MoveUP Members at BCGEU
On July 13 and July 15, 2026, we were joined by the BCUWU unit committee in discussion with the employer on shared proposals:
- Psychological Health and Safety
- Provincial Health and Safety Committee
- Early Intervention Program
- the use of Artificial Intelligence
While we have seen significant and welcome progress with the employer, there is still considerable work to be done before we achieve the outcomes we all collectively deserve. In particular, we still need to address the significant monetary concessions that the employer has tabled. These proposals remain a key focus of negotiations, and your bargaining committee will continue working hard to reach a fair agreement that reflects the value of all members.
We have scheduled dates in September and October.
In the meantime, we will begin mobilizing. We need to be prepared to continue the fight for a fair contract elsewhere if the bargaining table is no longer producing results.
