Notice of By-Election – ICBC – Executive Councillor – EC Area #1676 – #1677 – (1 position available)

To: MoveUP members employed at ICBC in EC Area #1676 - #1677
(EC Area #1676 – #1677 are members employed at ICBC Abbotsford DSC, Chilliwack Driver Services, Chilliwack Claims and Abbotsford DLO.).(EC # 1677 is now vacant).
Due to a vacancy in the above executive councillor position previously held by Natalia Durda, in accordance with our constitution, we are running a by-election to fill the position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day-to-day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.

Nomination deadline is 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday July 24, 2026.
To run for an executive councillor position, be a nominator for a candidate, or to vote for a candidate, you must be a member in good standing. In general, to be in good standing means that your union dues are up to date. Most members are up to date as your union dues are paid directly by your employer, but if you have taken a recent leave of absence (e.g. maternity, parental, long-term disability, etc.) then your dues may not have been covered during the time you were away. To check if you are in good standing, log on to your Member Portal account.
