We are excited to announce that, thanks to collaboration with your employer, your paramedical benefits will be increasing and expanding effective this coming Monday, June 1!
Previous:
- Combined yearly maximum of $200 for Psychologist and online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
*NEW* Effective June 1:
- Combined total of $2,500 per calendar year for Psychologist, Registered Clinical Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Counsellors and online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
We were able to make this possible for you thanks to Article 11.12 of your collective agreement which allows our union, if agreed upon by your employer, to discuss and implement a mutually agreeable Employee Assistance Program.
We want to thank your employer for helping us make this improvement possible for you.
IMPORTANT: Hang on to your receipts
Although the coverage will be effective June 1, 2026, we have been advised that Pacific Blue Cross (PBC) is facing some backlogs and delays and it may take some time for their coding team to implement it in their systems.
You can proceed with any treatments with the expanded eligible practitioner. However, you will need to hold on to your receipts and submit them as soon as PBC has finished coding.
