ICBC – Bargaining Update #6

April 23, 2026

To: All MoveUP members at ICBC

Your bargaining committee met with ICBC again on April 14 and 15 to continue negotiations.

The Parties had some in-depth conversations around scheduling and a representative from Workforce Management was present to walk the Union through some of the methodology and targets. The Parties were able to narrow down some areas within non-monetary where we are further apart and identify areas where we may be able to come to an agreement.

At our next round of dates on May 6 and 7 we plan to have more discussions regarding workforce management and scheduling and move more of our non-monetary proposals closer towards agreement.

What’s Next?

The Parties are moving closer to being able to discuss monetary items which includes wages, vacation, sick leave, overtime, layoff and recall and many more (22 of our proposals include monetary elements).

Your bargaining committee sincerely thanks you for your patience. We are striving to achieve the best deal, not the quickest deal, and it takes time to fully articulate our rationale at the table in a way that gives the issues you’ve identified as important their fair turn.

Please continue to visit our new bargaining website for all things bargaining related. As usual your committee can continue to be reached at icbcbarg@moveuptogether.ca. We strive to respond to every email received.

In solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee:

Brian Martens, Executive Board Member
Leilah Thiel, Executive Board Member
Lana Topic, Executive Board Member
Sara Colliss, Union Representative
Dimitri Ossinsky, Vice-President, ICBC Bargaining Unit
